Specific services provided by SAASWIPP members

SAASWIPP members offer a broad range of services to the public.
These include but are not restricted to:
  • Adoption services
  • AIDS counselling
  • Case Management services
  • Coaching
  • Counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups
  • Court reports
  • Divorce mediation and drafting parenting plans
  • Mediation and conflict resolution services
  • Organisational development services
  • Play therapy
  • Trauma debriefing
Offer counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families and groups. They offer a range of forensic services which include divorce mediation, parenting plan services, as well as court reports in various matters. Many social workers are involved in community development services.

We would prefer it to incorporate the following definition from the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work more closely:

“Clinical social work practice is the professional application of social work theory and methods to the differential diagnosis, prevention, amelioration and treatment of bio-psycho-social-spiritual dysfunction, disability and impairment, including mental, emotional, behavioral and addictive disorders, developmental disabilities and the impact of physical illness, injury and disability on bio-psychosocial-spiritual functioning. “
