Many years of social work in health care prepared me for private practice. My passion lies with grieving people and with those who struggle with the complications and implications of a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.
My studies started at the Rand Afrikaans University, which you will now know as the University of Johannesburg, where I was taught by some of the best social work lecturers and where I obtained the BA (SW). Many years later, I completed the Masters in Medical Social Work (MA-MSW) at the University of Pretoria. The North-West University in Potchefstroom guided me through a PhD (SW) where my research focussed on the intervention of a complicated grief intervention program.
I work from a strength-based perspective and focus on the dual responsibility of both the client and myself as the therapist. Together we strive towards finding solutions.
I know that it is only people who experience hardship who will turn to therapy, and if you are one of those, I welcome you to my practice. And until we meet, please take care.
